New Publication from the “Agricultural Systems of the Future” Funding Program
How can research and innovation projects systematically incorporate sustainability from the very beginning?
The working group on the Sustainability of Future Agricultural Systems addresses this question in a recent open-access publication in *Communications Sustainability*.
The paper introduces the concept of “Sustainability Goal Literacy” and demonstrates how global sustainability goals can serve as a guide for mission-oriented research and the transformation of agricultural and food systems. Drawing on experiences from the “Agricultural Systems of the Future” funding program, it highlights how sustainability goals can be integrated early on into research and innovation processes to foster synergies and identify conflicting objectives.
The publication is the result of collaboration among researchers from various AdZ consortia and underscores the added value of program-wide dialogue on sustainability issues.
We warmly congratulate all the authors on the publication and hope you find it an engaging read!
