On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the Institutes of Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Business Management hosted a distinguished delegation from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The group comprised esteemed managers and decision-makers interested in the fields of smart farming and food production.
The delegation was organized by the Export-Akademie Baden-Württemberg GmbH, which acts as an operational partner for the "Partnering in Business with Germany" cooperation program - a global foreign trade program of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection.
The three-hour event featured a genera introduction to the University of Hohenheim, doctoral presentations, and engaging demonstrations of field research.
Eager and inquisitive visitors were offered a glimpse into selected projects at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering. Other segments of the program enabled the group to explore practical applications of innovative technologies and experimental designs at the Heidfeldhof.
Following Dr. Ingrid Claß-Mahler’s presentation on the NOcsPS experimental field, Christian Trautmann showcased the application of drones equipped with multispectral cameras for agricultural crop monitoring. He demonstrated a real-time view of the technology in action by transmitting a live feed from the drone cameras to a screen.
