NOcsPS Project Hosts Delegation of the Illinois Soybean Association

In an event marked with innovation, research, and international cooperation, the NOcsPS project welcomed a delegation from the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) from the United States on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Agricultural Experimental Station Heidfeldhof. The visit aimed to foster a comprehensive knowledge transfer and showcase groundbreaking advancements in crop cultivation and protection without chemical synthetic plant protection products.
The distinguished guests, 10 members of the ISA, embarked on a tour of the Heidfeldhof facilities, where they were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricltural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ralf Vögele, and Head of Heidfeldhof, Herbert Stelz and introduced to the latest advancements in the NOcsPS project. An overview of the project aims and a technical showcase of NOcsPS field trial plots was given by the NOcsPS coordination team Dr. Nicole Schönleber and Dr. Ingrid Claß-Mahler, shedding light on innovative techniques in crop farming. This presentation was complemented by insights into plant health management from PhD students Martin Rieker and Christian Trautmann, demonstrating their pioneering research work.
Afterwards, Dr. Volker Hahn, Head of Soybean Breeding at the State Plant Breeding Institute located at the University of Hohenheim, provided an overview of soybean breeding efforts in Germany.
This was supplemented by a visit to the field trials, where the guests had the opportunity to witness practical application of latest research findings.
