Cluster 2: Soil Fertility

Cluster 2 focuses on needs-based fertilization to minimize the greater yield variability expected in NOcsPS cropping systems compared to conventional systems and to optimize nutrient cycles. To this end, various measures to promote yield stability, soil fertility, and plant growth in NOcsPS systems are being investigated.

Insights from CP2

In March 2026, a field trial with wheat began in VP2. This trial is designed to test the wheat plants’ resistance to the pathogen Bipolaris sorokiniana (leaf spot).
