State Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann explores NOcsPS at the University of Hohenheim

On September 10, 2023, State Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann, in his capacity as a member of the electoral district, visited the University of Hohenheim on his annual bicycle tour at the end of the summer vacations. After a tour of the Hohenheim Gardens and the State Institute for Apiculture, Winfried Hermann and his companions were received by Prof. Dr. Enno Bahrs to receive information on the topic of Agriculture 4.0 with a special focus on digitalization and innovative technologies.

On the Golden Field, heavy equipment with attachments for computer-assisted tracking of hoes and precision seeding was presented. Visitors also had the opportunity to see the "Phoenix" agricultural robot up close and learn more about its potential applications. Drones optimized for agricultural use cases were demonstrated with a test flight maneuver to convey the potential and possible applications of drones in agriculture.

Visions of future farming systems were shared, and current research issues were discussed in dialogue with the scientists present.
